Incentives + Business Assistance

For qualified businesses needing assistance with expansion or relocation plans, various incentives and/or assistance programs may be available. The availability of incentives depends on the project type and size, community impact of the project and the specific location. Additional qualification criteria for incentives may include:

  • Total capital investment
  • Number of jobs created and wage levels
  • Whether the company will lease or purchase/build

Commerce City Programs

  • Dedicated assistance throughout site selection, development and business opening
  • Reduced development costs
    • Accelerated development review
    • Permit fee rebates
    • Sales/use tax rebates for construction materials
  • Additional city sales/use tax rebates
  • Executive/employee relocation assistance if needed
  • Supply chain referral program
  • Workforce hiring and training assistance with partners
  • No employment “head” tax
  • Site security referrals from city police department
  • Waiver of development-related fees for certain new commercial development projects including Restaurants, Recreation or Amusement Facilities, Lodging Establishments, Hospitals, and Grocery Stores.  
  • Rebate of lodging taxes for new hotel development
Catalyst Program

The Commercial Catalyst Program is designed to encourage business and property owners to update building facades, signage and landscaping within the Derby District.

Adams County Incentives Program

  • Tax rebate incentives may be considered, on a case-by-case basis for companies offering high paying, quality jobs

State of Colorado Programs

Other Programs

  • United Power/Xcel Energy’s “New” Construction Program for Businesses (energy cost 
    savings program)
